SNOWGIRLS THE MOVIE - TRAILER

This year POME.sk has enough footage to create a movie about chicks, who are doing freeskiing and freestyle snowboarding.

13 the best riders from Slovakia and Czech republic will show their riding in a short document. How they train, travel and enjoy every trip they had made ...

I can happily say that I will also have a part in this movie! :)

Drops in December 2012.

BEST TRICK JAM SESSION 2012

Chilling OXskis :).
Zuziška Stromková on street rail.

Ondra Beneš, czech freeskier,  while jibbing the box.
In Czech the first contest on the real snow is already past. Freeskier Josef Chosé Kysučan organised a really nice event called Best Trick Jam Session 2012 in skiareal Karolínka (eastern part of Czech).

Always-want-to-play dogie :).
Unknown rider waiting to drop in.
I was not able to ride there because of my knee, I am still afraid a bit. On the other hand, Steven could and it was a good opportunity to meet my friends, so we simply went there.

Setup was made from two obstacles, rail and box, both street. There were more than 30 freeskiers and snowboarders riding it. Music such as reggae and rap from band Bad Boyz from Opava fit perfectly there.

Martin Kanurek Jacksson style!
That was not all. Guys from Houseboard Shop buil there a minu half pipe, so skateboarders were also able to ride.

HOME, SWEET HOME

View while we were biking with my mum. The water you see is Liptovská Mara.
View while we were biking with my mum. West Tatras.
I am studying for a year in Prague now. Capital city of Czech republic is approximately 500km away from my home in Slovakia, Závažná Poruba (close to Liptovský Mikuláš). That takes 7-8 hours of traveling by bus or trail and from  16-20 Euros for one-direction ticket.
Although I would like to visit home as much as possible, I am not able to get home every month. That's is why when I go home, I am trying to enjoy it as much as possible. Breath fresh air, play with our dog Dora, visit my family, sport in a nature, walk in a forest… it all makes me happy and I am truly thankful my home is so close to mouton in a small village.

Me and my Mum :).
On the way to Svídovské sedlo.
I was home at August 2012 for four days. Luckily for me, the weather was awesome. Blue-bird sky, summer/autumn temperatures, ideal conditions for program I did. I was binding with my dad in Svídovské sedlo, with my mum our favorite path LM-Žiar-through the forest-Bobrovec-LM. I had breakfast with my grandma Evelína and dinner also with grandparents Magduška and Miloš.

Me and my Dad :).
Dora!
One evening before I was supposed to return to Prague again my brother Richie push me to go hiking during the night so we could see the sunrising from the top of Polana, peak in Low Tatras.

We were gout of 11 people.  Having lights on the heads and small music box to play, everyone with huge bag, we started to hike around 11:30pm. With some short breaks for drinking or catching our breath, we reached the final spot after 2 and half hours.

The daylight was almost on, but the sun was still hidden. We went sleep, with all clothes we were carrying, it was summer but it was mouton - so cold when u was just laying on the ground! Sudenly I woke up. The sun had started to rise. Slowly, millimeter after millimeter.

From small part entire 'balloon' keeping moving up, higher and higher on the sky. Magical moment. And little bit later, ordinary day was on. :) Me, Richie and Jakub Vojtek started to hike down around 8am, other guys were chilling there and enjoying the time little bit longer.

That day in the evening I returned back to Prague.

UPRISING REGGAE FESTIVAL 2012

In summer 2012 it was the 5. anniversary  of  the Uprising Reggae festival, the biggest central European festival of reggae music.

It was the third time I was able to visit this magic event. As every year, it took place at Zlaté piesky, Bratislava (24. - 25.8.2012). Me and my boyfriend Steven were traveling there from Prague by bus.
We arrived  to the area in the evening. Music was on, people already enjoying the atmosphere.
As we received tickets, we found my friends and  tents where we were sleeping. Put our stuff there and not hesitating we went to the Main stage, where Max Romeo in that moment was.

The Uprising is growing every year. Each time the organizers make the event more and more better by sounds, effects, line up, activities which visitors can do.
This year the Main stage has a few screens with graphics and 2 huge screens with live view. It was awesome.  The lights, screens with graphic and music - all together was cooperating well and made a nice impression on us. Next artist we saw was Lee Scratch Perry. His music had a good vibes. Old guy with untypical clothes and cap with CDs on the sides. That is something you will remember :).

Luckily for us, during entire festival the weather was hot and nice. So in the tent we didn't need a sleeping bag or thick blanket. It made the it all even more comfortable.

The other day we went to Tesco for some food and than we called Richie. He was wake boarding, so we went there too. We had enough time, the music was about to start after the lunch time. Richie's style on the board was funny, as a small monkey. Other friend of mine, Radko, injured himself so Steven could borrowed his gear and try to ride. It was his firs time and first tries was funny to watch. As all the beginners, he was not able to stand on the board more than 2 meters.  But in the end, when i was already gone, he was able to ride two circles on the lift. Good job!

In the mean time I went to Dancehall stage for dancehall workshop. Unfortunately, me and Bea, who was with me, were too late and saw just the end.  So we were walking through the area again, close to Mungo's stage or Circus arena. We met Steven aging and went to Main stage for Slovak hip-hop interprets Vec and Moja Reč followed by Czech band Prago Union. I enjoyed their concert a lot, because they are one of my favorites. We also tried to go on capoeira workshop, but we saw just some fights in mud.
Between concerts, we were walking through the shopping area or how can i call it. We visited also the place where POME had their Progress Zone showroom. Walked on slackline, met a lot of friends of mine there.
Another huge names appeared on Main stage and Dancehall stage, such as Delinquent Habits, Anthony B, Cali P or Irie Revoltés.

Hands in the air, moving to the rhythm of music. We really enjoyed both days and need to say i appreciate how it was organized. For sure one of the greatest festival ever.

ROTTERDAM

Amsterdam, roof of Nemo Museum.

In summer 2012 I was lucky to be able to travel to Rotterdam for . It was the first time I have been in Netherlands.

We reached Rotterdam in the morning, fog was on the fields and sun had just started to raise.
25.7.2012 around 6am we came to Steven's house. Only Jamie, Kelly's boyfriend was awake because he needed to go to work. We slept till 11am I guess and than, because it seemed to be unexpectedly nice weather, we decided to visit the beach Rockanje and spent there entire day. I was talking with Kelly about school systems in NL and SK. It is way different, but for me it sounded to be good. Of course we were swimming in the sea and had fun.
In the evening we went biking. The biking roads are everywhere in NL, so even in traffic we were relatively safe.

Rotterdam, industrial city. Susnset while we were biking.

In the every evening family always meet together, talk about the day, new experiences or random stuff and eat dinner. It somehow surprised me in a good way, maybe because I didn't experience it for a long, long time. It holds all family members together, know the news about everyone. It was nice :).

Thursday we went to Snowworld, indoor ski resort. Steven has been working there for some time. I was trying to ski for the first time since I had my ACL surgery in the beginning of March. My knee felt good about riding, I was able to ski pretty fast, hehe. Luckily for me, not park was there in that time, just small 2 obstacles, so I didn't feel so sad.

Happy to be able to ski again :).

Later that day we met Steven's best friend Anouck. We was walking on a small hill, from which we say little bit of Rotterdam. The hill was close to artificial ski slope, where you could slide on plastic surface.

The plan for the next day was zoo Diergaarde Blijdorp In Rotterdam. This zoo visits around 1,5 million people a year and it is consider to be one of the biggest attraction in the Netherlands. It includes also Oceanium. We started with the seals, which were pretty lazy. I laughter about them a lot, it reminded me people in general. We also saw Oceanium with plenty kinds of fishes, Nemo, sharks, turquoises. We also walked trough some areas with butterflies and birds, close to tigers or elephants, tigers and pumas. We were lucky to attend a bird show. It was focusing more on introductions of birds, not show itself. Anyway, when the bird flew so low over our heads, we were screaming a lot :). While we were traveling home it was raining.
In the evening we visited Steven's grandmum.
This shark was so real. I was scared to put a hand into his mouth!

Saturday 28th I will remember till the end of my life. We visited Efteling, theme park. Almost 60 years old, high-professional, full of attractions not only for kids. We was there soon, but it was already full of people. I have never seen that much people on the one place (for this kind of entertainment). I think pictures will show you more than any words.
The first roller coaster i have every tried. AWESOME!
With Kushiii!
Next day was chilling day. We visited Steven's grandparents from other side.

Finally, at monday we went to downtown of Rotterdam. In the end, I realized that something is not 'good'. Yea, the city was so industrial and modern and … i don't know. I guess i really missed the history there. The city is nice, but not that special for me to be honest, just another huge city.

Such a turist :).

To say it shortly: nice city, more history buildings than in Rotterdam, narrow streets full of people, houses with hooks in the top of them (for carrying stuff to higher floors, not for hanging people!), A LOT of bikes and water canals, Nemo Museum. Oh, and i almost forgot. The red lights too. Hihi :).

The 9th day in NL was 2nd of August and it was Steven's birthday. He invited me, his sisters Kelly and Marisa with their boyfriends Jamie and Robin to Snowworld. He gave us a snowboard lesson. My first snowboard lesson in Dutch!
In the evening entire family met together to celebrate. Littbe bit less than 30 people sitting in the living room and talking.

I am not really sure, where Steven's parents, sisters, Jamie, Robin and me went to restaurant for spare ribs where everyone could eat as much as possible and than to McDonalds for McFlurry. That was awesome evening too! :)

We returned to Pha in 5th of August.

Snowboarding lesson in Snowworld :).

I must say TWO HUGE THANKS TO Renca for renting us a car - it was a great experience, and to Steven's parents and family - it was awesome time and I look forward to visit Rotterdam again! :)

TRIP TO CROATIA

I have never expecting I will experience something like this. In the May I was asked by my friends to join them for the trip to Croatia.

Catamaran Lagoon 400 2012
When we saw the boat for the first time, we were out of words. Everything was new and ready for  sailing! :) It was rent by Sunlife.

The first night we decided to stay in Split Marina and checked the city. It was beggining of the season, so there was not so many people.

Next morning our adventure began.
The days was similar and also different. We started to sail every morning after we woke up, using engine or wind. That depended on the conditions.

The view was beautiful all the time. Never-ending sea horizont or beautiful nature such, as small bays with blue-turquoise sea.

There was one moment where I thought we can have huge problem. We were in the middle of the storm.

Except this day we had nice weather all the time. Not hot enough to get some sunbath, but it waw ok. Chilling, eating, enjoying time...

Thanks these two people, Renča and Jirka, for awesome trip!
